Creatures

Mark Twain once said ” we are creatures of outside influences, as a rule we do not think, we only imitate.” I think Twain thought very low of the Human race and our ability to think independently. Now in our day and age almost everyone is influenced by someone or something. The media and news influence most of us with its false hopes, with its lies. Us being human we go along with what ever were being told like mindless zombies. Imitating what we see it becomes what we know. We are in danger of a complete annihilation, the independent thinkers are now a minority. Twain thought so low of the human race because   I believe sometimes imitating can be part of  human nature, and the  human race in general has some of the most unfortunate characteristics. But say you were the only person on earth, you would have no outside influences to imitate. Imitation has now become what we know, something that has become natural whether it be good or bad. We should think more about why we imitate the things we do, give it more thought than just acting upon it. We sometimes act before we think, rarely do we think before we act. Mark twain was a skeptic and was so critical when it came to humans.

“I believe I have no prejudices what so ever all I need to know is that a man is a member of the human race. That’s bad enough for me”

Mark Twain
